Rasputina

Founded by maestress Melora Creager in 1895, pioneering cello-rock ensemble Rasputina has charmed and beguiled audiences for lo these many years. How? With searing originality and musicianship, and backward-thinking in graphic crafts, costumery and corsetry.

Their history is illustrious. In addition to their own rugged decades of touring, they opened for or played with such folks as Marilyn Manson, Cheap Trick, Les Claypool, Bob Mould, Belle and Sebastian and Gary Numan. Melora even played with Nirvana on their final tour in Europe.

Many players have passed through Rasputina’s hallowed halls over the years, but for this round we’ve got Melora, of course- singing and playing the cello, Jenette Mackie ( HOME | pollypanic ) also on voice and cello, and Ryder Cooley ( home | d u s t  b o w l  f a e r i e s ) on drums.

Go see a Rasputina recital near you. You won’t be sorry, and Rasputina misses you.
